A picture circulated on social networking sites, specifically “Twitter,” linking the construction of one of the tombs in the Valley of the Kings (Tomb of Seti I) to the shape of Queen Nefertiti‘s crown. A comment accompanying the picture read, “There are no coincidences among the Pharaohs.”
As a result, “akhbarelyom” reached out to Dr. Magdy Shaker, the chief archaeologist at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, to confirm the accuracy of this connection. Dr. Shaker clarified that this connection is incorrect since the tomb was constructed during the 19th Dynasty, whereas Queen Nefertiti belonged to the 18th Dynasty. Therefore, there is no historical link between the queen and this particular tomb.
Dr. Magdy Shaker emphasized that the ancient Egyptians paid meticulous attention to details, but in this case, the suggested connection is indeed incorrect.
